Tree of Stitches Part 5: Rice Stitch

When we last left Abu Gurden’s Tree of Stitches it was back in 19 April and it looked like this:

Tonight I finished the last third of the Rice Stitches and Part 5 is now completed.  Rice stitches are a new stitch for me; a combination of long arm cross stitch and couchwork.  I didn’t like the consistency of the two threads on the 32ct fabric so I did these stitches in one thread.

This is coming on well Mel – is this a once a month project?

  2. Mel says:

Nope – it is once a fortnight … so I am way waaaay behind 🙂 Part 11 is due out today and I’ve just finished part 5 🙂

Fortunately each part really takes only a few hours so if I have a few really good days I should be able to catch up by the end of the month ….

Ooh good luck then, if the next couple of bits are stitches you know and can do quickly you might be able to play catch up a bit (migraines being nice to you of course)

Dont forget to download all the part as Abi is taking it off shortly after it finishes.

It looks great. You are doing a good job.

  5. Mel says:

Ah thanks for that Kay – might do that now, just in case!
